Life on Mars: Part 5 - Arches Nat'l Park

Every day in the States feels like 3. No time to sit on a beach in Mexico and drink beer, eat fish taco's and swim. On a good day we get to sleep in until 7 am. If it's not Craig, then it's Kevin taking us out on our daily ride.

It's Thursday now. 8pm. I'm full on pizza and beer. For the first time in a while I'm really starting to feel like I'm on vacation. But it didn't happen over night.

After our Porcupine Rim ride on Tuesday, Susan had the idea of visiting Arches Nat'l Park in Utah, right near Moab. We had some awesome Vista's on our mini road trip through the park, and I was reminded of 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' cause of the opening sequence was filmed here.

Here are some pics.
I don't think that rock is safe there, mind if I just give it a tap?
I don't own Goldfish, but if I did, this is the kind of home I'd try to provide for them.

The Star Attraction at the Arches park is the 'Delicate Arch'. Craig was kind enough to stay behind and watch the bikes as Steve, Susan, Ina and I began the 2.4 km trek to the viewing vantage point.
We pass this really cool historical cabin, built hundreds of year ago, which I know nothing about.
Oh yeah. that 2.4 kms, was mostly up. This is where I burned off the rest of my energy on Tuesday. All I know is that to get where we were going is that I would have to climb up past some more big fukn heights I wasn't happy about.
We got to the top and were greeted by around 2 hundred people with Cameras. All them were sitting around staring at the Arch like they were waiting for Jesus to show up or something.

I really don't like being up high. The gang got their photos and we headed back towards Craig.(Thanks for waiting Craig.)

We hopped in the Van, made a Wendy's run, and started our journey to Grand Junction, CO.........

Wow, looks awesome!
The pictures are great.
I just got back from a weekend on The Shore, and can see why you love it so much. I'll have to come over more often!
Enjoy your holiday Ted.
